My Favorite Fall Home Decor Tips & Tricks

Fall is a beautiful time of year, and there's no better way to celebrate the season than with a pumpkin spice latte or a little festive home decor. With classic trends of pumpkins and gourds to cozy throws and pillows, there are countless ways to add a touch of autumn to your space.

Here are a few of my tips and trends to help you decorate your home for fall:

Colors:

As you know, Fall colors tend to be warm and earthy, such as orange, red, yellow, brown, and green. These colors can be used in everything from paint to your accent pieces.

If you're looking for a more modern take on fall decor, try using some muted shades of traditional colors. For example, use a terracotta or pumpkin color instead of a bright orange. Then, instead of a deep red, use a burgundy or maroon color; these are more of a personal favorite of mine.

Textures

Let's talk texture another essential element of fall home decor. This can be added with cozy throws and pillows, woven baskets, and faux fur accents. It is super simple and can be incorporated into any budget.

Layering different textures is a great way to create warmth and an inviting space. For example, you could layer a faux fur throw over a cable knit blanket on your couch. Or, you could place a woven basket filled with pumpkins and gourds on your coffee table.

Natural elements:

One of the best ways to bring natural elements into your home decor is to bring the outdoors in! 🍃

This could include things like leaves, branches, acorns, and pine cones.

You can use natural elements to create simple centerpieces, garlands, and wreaths. Or, place them in bowls and baskets around your home for a super simple, inexpensive added touch.

Tips:

Here are a few of my additional tips for decorating your home for fall:

  • Don't be afraid to mix and match different styles. For example, you could pair traditional fall decor with more modern pieces. Get creative!
  • Use candles and other scented items to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.
  • Don't forget your outdoor spaces. You can always add a little something like pumpkins, gourds, or other fall foliage to your porch or patio for that indoor, outdoor fall feel.

Trends :

Here are a few fall home decor trends for 2023:

  • Warm, Spice-inspired hues: This fall, designers are loving warm colors like copper, gold, brown, apricot, and burgundy. These colors can be incorporated into your home decor in many ways, such as with throw pillows, blankets, and artwork.
  • Layered textures: Layering different textures is a great way to add depth and interest to your home decor. This fall, try layering different throws and pillows on your couch. You can also layer rugs and curtains to vary the texture.
  • Natural elements: Natural elements like leaves, branches, acorns, and pine cones are always popular choices for fall home decor. This year, try using natural elements in unexpected ways. For example, Create a wreath from dried leaves or use acorns to make a decorative centerpiece.
